Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program
Cognitive Health Solutions, LLC offers an 8-week group facilitated by Karen W. Jones, LPC, which shows us ways of focusing on the present moment in a nonjudgmental way, increasing our ability to move from old, repetitious habits and reactions into skillful, productive responses. This program offers guided instruction and experience in mindful meditation and mindful movement. Practices include learning to focus on the breath, body scan meditation, and gentle stretching.
The next offering of this group will meet on Wednesday evenings (Hanover) or Thursday evenings (York) for eight (8) consecutive weeks. There will be active and supportive group learning, as well as individually tailored instruction and home practice assignments. One full-day workshop will be offered on a weekend day in addition to the eight regular sessions.
All interested parties are required to attend a group mandatory orientation with the course facilitator, Karen Jones, before being enrolled in the course. This will allow each person to gain a better understanding of the MBSR program, a chance to meet the instructor, and a clearer idea of what mindfulness is.
Insurance will be accepted. A fixed rate of $60 per session is available for clients without coverage.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Workshops
Do you ever feel fatigued, too busy, stressed out, overwhelmed, or disappointed with life? Do you sometimes feel that worry and anxious thought are taking over your life and/or future? Have you found yourself focusing on what’s next so much that you’re missing out on the present? Mindfulness allows us to take a different approach to things and helps us focus on the present. Mindfulness can be practiced Anywhere, Anytime, by Anyone formally and informally.
Cognitive Health Solutions, LLC offers one-time workshops facilitated by Karen W. Jones, LPC. No prior knowledge or experience is required to participate in these workshops. You’ll join a group of peers and learn how to integrate the benefits of mindfulness into your everyday activities. You will experience focused breathing exercises and mindful movement that everyone can do. The practices will increase your understanding of stressed states and encourage you to incorporate new skills so that you can respond to that stress in a positive, healthy manner. You will learn how to settle a busy mind, skillfully handle emotions and thoughts, and direct and sustain attention.
Insurance is not accepted for these educational workshops. There is a participation fee of $50, though groups of two or more that register together will receive a discounted rate of $35 each. Workshops are open to all adults including, but not limited to, current or past clients. Cancellations are not eligible for a refund, but you may receive a credit of the same amount applicable toward a future workshop.

With the impact from COVID-19, we are evolving our Pause on Purpose (POP) Session on July 28, 2020, 7:30-8:30 PM. Let’s gather together online for our monthly educational mindfulness session. You are invited to join us for one hour of guided mindfulness practice with Karen Jones, Certified MBSR teacher. Pause on Purpose
Drop In Sessions
As part of our ongoing efforts to bring mindfulness based stress reduction practices to the Hanover community, we will begin offering a monthly drop in session to stop and Pause on Purpose.
The monthly drop in sessions will be held by Karen Jones, MS, NCC, LPC. Karen is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has completed a 92-hour teacher development intensive training taught by senior staff from the Center for Mindfulness.
During the one hour sessions, Karen will lead various guided meditations, practice focusing on the breath, body and movement, cultivating a focus on present moment awareness of body sensations, thoughts and emotional states.
While most of the hour will be spent participating in the various practices, brief discussion on integrating and applying daily mindfulness based self-regulatory skills will be addressed as participants desire.
